apres une semaine
so yeah. france is the most enchanting place ever. so far this week i have climbed the mountain in aix made famous by cezanne, i have swam in the mediterranean, seen ancient roman ruins, seen a naked boy dive off said naked roman ruins (they're the second tallest in the world -- after the colliseum of course) into a gorge. i have visted marseille and ate lunch and sipped a margarita at a seaside cafe, and saw the femur bone of the patron saint of marseille saint who died in the year 304. i also learned that marseille is 2600 years old! i went to the former residence of the pope, about 700 years ago, i went to a wine tasting festival and on this trip in general have drinken more alcohol than in the entire span of my life (but i still haven't been intoxicated!) and i've met some very very interesting people. i've learned my way around this city and i've gotten by on my broken french, surprisingly enough. an di can understand the natives a lot better than i previously gave myself credit for. i've started taking classes, they're hard, but i'll learn a lot. i am having a good time. but i do miss home. i miss you all. and i wish everyone could be here to experience it! some day, make sure you go to provence. it should be on everyone's list!3:03 p.m.
