22 days
well, today i finally picked up my visa for mozambique, and this week i got shots for yellow fever, hepatitis A, rabies, and polio, and got a prescription for $600 worth of malaria pills (i really hope insurance covers it). now i only have these things to do:-finish reading 1,650 pages and take notes
-figure out how the hell to pack for 4 months in a third-world country
-get the rest of my shots
-get in shape
-update my resume
-say goodbye to everyone before i leave
-countless other things that i don't remember and probably won't until i land in cape town after a 19 hour flight and kick myself
-oh yeah i have to remember to feed rachel's cat on sunday
i don't feel nearly as nervous as i did before i left for france. maybe its because i still have almost a month before i leave. maybe its because i've done it before now. maybe its because i can speak english in south africa. but i feel like i should be nervous (especially after my doctor's appointment wednesday .. . .) and i'm going to be gone so much longer. and micki had the professor that will be there and he assigned her a 40 page paper which i think is kind of ridiculous. but i am really really excited to have the chance to see a rhinocerous in the wild; let's just hope i don't catch dengue fever while doing so. and i'm excited to go swimming in the indian ocean and maybe see some whales; i just can't swim in fresh water because of schistomitosisosndlkandlkf;asd or however you spell it. and i have to take my own syringes so i don't get HIV. I also hope there aren't as many born-again proselytizing christians on this trip.
on another note, andrea is coming this weekend! yay!
also, kevin you are the best boyfriend ever!:)
